When conservative treatment alone isn't enough, Dr. Knopp performs advanced interventional procedures through the Hartford HealthCare Pain Treatment Center.
These procedures are performed at Hartford HealthCare
Dr. Knopp's interventional work is part of his hospital practice at the Hartford HealthCare Pain Treatment Center. Your initial evaluation and OMT treatment happen at the office in West Hartford. If a procedure is recommended, it will be scheduled and performed at the hospital facility.
Targeted delivery of anti-inflammatory medication to the epidural space around spinal nerves. Used for herniated discs, spinal stenosis, and radiculopathy that hasn't responded to conservative care.
Uses heat generated by radio waves to disrupt specific nerves that carry pain signals. Provides longer-lasting relief than injections alone — typically 6 to 12 months. Commonly used for facet joint pain and sacroiliac joint dysfunction.
Diagnostic and therapeutic injections that target specific nerves or nerve groups. Help identify pain sources and provide targeted relief for conditions from SI joint pain to occipital neuralgia.
A medication-free approach using thin wires to change how nerves transmit pain signals to the brain. Dr. Knopp on Sprint: "It's becoming more commonplace, but a lot of doctors and facilities are not doing it — and we're doing it quite a bit."
An implantable device that delivers mild electrical pulses to the spinal cord, interrupting pain signals before they reach the brain. Considered for chronic pain that hasn't responded to other treatments.
Most patients start with an evaluation at the office. Dr. Knopp will determine whether OMT, a procedure, or a combination is the right path.
